Emperor Shah Jahan wanted to recreate
heaven on earth in memory of his deceased wife Mumtaz Mahal. Perhaps, there was

also supposedly wanted a mirror replica of the white mausoleum across the
Yamuna, but made entirely in Black Marble!
Ironically, his wish never fulfilled
when his son Aurangzeb deposed him and kept him in captivity at Agra fort.
Myths relate Shah Jahan ended his days in a captive quarter of the Agra Fort,
